Corniche Camomile
Corniche Camomile was a duo consisting of Hanako Hara and Yasushi Sakurai who played mouthwatering sweet summery pop. I don't know much else about them, apart from that Sakurai now plays with Three Berry Icecream, whom I will be posting about later. This song is the title track from their 2000 record, hope you enjoy it.

Serani Poji
Irresistible! Absolutely irresistible! Like strawberry sorbet on a warm day, Serani Poji are totally irresistible. Although a two-girl band, Tomoko Sasaki and Yumi Higashino claim Serani Poji is actually the name of a fictional girl singer. Luxurious ready made string samples, samba drums, gorgeous sunshine pop and sweet (fictional) singing about rabbits and old fishermen (!) feel as satisfying to your ears as said sorbet to your palate. I included one of their songs on my latest compilation, "地球人のカラダ" ("An Earthling's Body"), as you've probably all heard by now - if you haven't, go have a listen! Unfortunately, I don't think they've released anything new since 2004, which is the last time their site was updated. I will definitely keep my rabbit ears and eyes peeled for new material from the twosome, sorry one... some? Serani Poji!

Hi-Posi
I don't know where to start describing what Hi-Posi sounds like. An explosion in a candy store, with a marching band, a load of ducks and, of course, evil mastermind Miho Moribayashi somehow captured onto tape. Joking aside, Hi-Posi seems to be one of those "love or loathe" kind of outfits; Miho's breathy childlike vocals in the style of Kahimi Karie and the likes seem to rub some people the wrong way - I didn't use to be a huge fan of it. But after having GLUON creep up on me and slowly, but steadily becoming one of my all-time favourite records, I must say I don't think Miho Moribayashi could do anything wrong. Hi-Posi are probably most famous for one of their songs featured on Sushi 4004, but I strongly recommend you try and get your mitts on some of her other stuff, you might just find yourself surprised. Down the rabbit hole we go!

abcdefg*record
abcdefg*record is a fantastic Nagoya based label which has been releasing records since 1998. They've accumulated a rather splendid back catalogue, as you can see above, including releases by bands such as naivepop or petitfool and one of the label founders miette-one. Their rather fantastic slogan is WE LOVE INDIEPOP MUSIC AND GIRAFFE. You can order their releases, cute t-shirts and bags from here and check out videos here.
I will most definitely be posting more about about abcdefg*record bands in the future, stay tuned & check it out.
